So, there’s this car parked illegally in front of our building at work, and Facilities Security drives up, and stops, and has a conversation with the driver of the car, one would assume about her being parked illegally in front of our building. And they conversed, and then the guy from Facilities Security drove away and the woman parked illegally stayed parked illegally. Because, apparently, the guy from Facilities Security isn’t paid enough to actually do anything, he’s just paid enough to drive around in a car clearly marked Facilities Security because the appearance of security is more important than the enforcement of security.
This is what’s wrong with the VA, and the CDC, and certainly Kentucky State Government. This is what’s wrong with America. We have more rules than one could possibly imagine, but nobody cares enough to actually enforce those rules. There are so many rules that they begin to seem silly and unnecessary and so we grow lax and stupid, and sure, the woman parked illegally in front of our building may have just been waiting to pick up her husband, but she also might have had a freaking bomb in her trunk or a machine gun in her back seat. It doesn’t matter why the f**k she’s parked illegally, the bottom line is she’s parked illegally and she needs to be told by the person responsible, in this case Facilities Security, to MOVE HER DAMN CAR.
So I called 911. And a great hoo-ha ensued. The woman parked illegally got hysterical and started screaming and crying when the police showed up, and then Facilities Security got all up in my face for trying to tell them how to do their job, and now I’ve been invited to meet with several managers and our HR director tomorrow morning.
